Parallel to increasing demand by its customers, growth has been an essential partner to Mikroteks. Its first office in Istanbul was merely 110 m2 with three employees. Today Mikroteks operates from a 300 m2 office and a 500 m2 warehouse. Its annual earnings and client base more than tripled since 1995.
The reviews provided by the Turkish Clothing Manufacturers Association (TGSD), established in 1976 to promote the domestic clothing industry, support Mikroteks’ growth rate. In 2009 Turkey earned approx. USD 13.2bn (2.3% of GDP) from the ready-to-wear garment exports. The association estimates this number to be USD 14bn in 2010. The Russian Federation accounts for more than 30% of clothing exports from Turkey. According the WTO statistics Turkey is the 4th clothing supplier in the world.
